Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of roasted almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of egg yolks (about 4 large yolks)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Ice cream maker
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Freezer-proof container

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the egg yolks to the mixture and whisk until well combined.
  • Stir in the pure vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly.
  • Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for about 15 minutes. Then pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Once churned, fold in the chopped roasted almonds evenly throughout the ice cream mixture.
  • Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-proof container and freeze for at least 2-4 hours until firm.
