Ingredients:
- 8 slices of sourdough bread
- 200g of aged cheddar cheese, sliced
- 150g of Gruyère cheese, sliced
- 50g of unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- grill
- spatula
- knife
- cutting board
- non-stick pan
Instructions:
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, spread Dijon mustard evenly.
- Layer the aged cheddar and Gruyère cheese on top of the mustard.
- Sprinkle fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper on the cheese layer.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Grill the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the pan and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
- Serve immediately with a side of your choice.
