 Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of sourdough bread
  • 200g of aged cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 150g of Gruyère cheese, sliced
  • 50g of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • grill
  • spatula
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • non-stick pan

Instructions:

  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  • Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • On the unbuttered side of four slices, spread Dijon mustard evenly.
  • Layer the aged cheddar and Gruyère cheese on top of the mustard.
  • Sprinkle fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper on the cheese layer.
  • Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  • Grill the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the pan and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
  • Serve immediately with a side of your choice.
