Ingredients:

  • 500g of bread flour
  • 25g of sugar
  • 10g of salt
  • 10g of instant yeast
  • 300ml of warm water
  • 50g of malt syrup
  • oil for greasing

  • Kitchen scale
  • Oven
  • Rolling pin
  • Pot

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  • Gradually add warm water, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  • Divide the dough into 5 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Poke a hole in the center and stretch it to form a bagel shape.
  • In a pot, bring water to a boil and stir in malt syrup. Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes per side, then place them on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake the bagels in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow the bagels to cool on a wire rack before serving.
