 Expert Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with a Twist

Ingredients:

  • 400g of spaghetti
  • 80ml of olive oil
  • 6 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon of dried red chili flakes
  • 100g of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 75g of grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt to taste

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • large pot
  • colander
  • skillet
  • wooden spoon
  • knife
  • cutting board

Instructions:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  • While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced garlic and cook for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Stir in the red chili flakes and remove from heat.
  • Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 100ml of the pasta water and drain the rest using a colander.
  • Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with garlic and chili oil, and toss to combine.
  • If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Stir in chopped parsley and mix well.
  • Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional parsley if desired.
