Ingredients:
- 500g of boneless chicken thighs
- 3 tbsp of shawarma spice mix
- 4 tbsp of olive oil
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 8 pita bread
- 1 cup of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup of sliced cucumbers
- 1/2 cup of tahini sauce
- 1/4 cup of chopped parsley
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Grill
- Mixing Bowl
- Chef's Knife
- Cutting Board
- Skewers
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken thighs, shawarma spice mix, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
- Marinate the chicken for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavor.
- While the chicken marinates, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- After marinating, thread the chicken onto skewers.
- Grill the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Remove the chicken from the skewers and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it thinly.
- Warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1 minute on each side until soft.
- To assemble, take a warm pita, add a portion of the sliced chicken, and top it with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced cucumbers, tahini sauce, and chopped parsley.
