Ingredients:

  • 500g of boneless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp of shawarma spice mix
  • 4 tbsp of olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 8 pita bread
  • 1 cup of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup of sliced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup of tahini sauce
  • 1/4 cup of chopped parsley

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Grill
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Chef's Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Skewers

Instructions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken thighs, shawarma spice mix, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
  • Marinate the chicken for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavor.
  • While the chicken marinates, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  • After marinating, thread the chicken onto skewers.
  • Grill the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  • Remove the chicken from the skewers and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it thinly.
  • Warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1 minute on each side until soft.
  • To assemble, take a warm pita, add a portion of the sliced chicken, and top it with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced cucumbers, tahini sauce, and chopped parsley.
