Ingredients:

  • 200g of sesame seeds
  • 100g of sugar
  • 50ml of water
  • 5g of salt
  • 5ml of vanilla extract

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Knife

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, salt, and vanilla extract over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved completely.
  • Add the sesame seeds to the saucepan and mix until they are well coated with the syrup mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture onto a lightly floured surface. Using a rolling pin, roll it out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Let it cool slightly, then cut into rectangular or diamond-shaped pieces with a knife while still warm.
  • Place the pieces on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow the sesame snaps to cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring them to an airtight container.
