Ingredients:
- 200g of sesame seeds
- 100g of sugar
- 50ml of water
- 5g of salt
- 5ml of vanilla extract
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Saucepan
- Mixing bowl
- Rolling pin
- Knife
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, salt, and vanilla extract over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved completely.
- Add the sesame seeds to the saucepan and mix until they are well coated with the syrup mixture.
- Transfer the mixture onto a lightly floured surface. Using a rolling pin, roll it out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Let it cool slightly, then cut into rectangular or diamond-shaped pieces with a knife while still warm.
- Place the pieces on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the sesame snaps to cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring them to an airtight container.
