Ingredients:
- 500g of all-purpose flour
- 250ml of water
- 10g of salt
- 2g of baking powder
- 20ml of vegetable oil
Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Oven
- Mixing bowl
- Rolling pin
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a rough dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to about 1cm thickness.
- Cut into squares or rectangles using a knife or pizza cutter.
- Place the cut pieces onto the prepared baking sheet and prick each piece with a fork to prevent rising during baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the hardtack is golden and firm to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
