Ingredients:

  • 500g of fresh white fish fillets (such as tilapia or snapper)
  • 150ml of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 medium red onion, finely sliced
  • 1-2 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped
  • 200g of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 ripe avocados, diced

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Serving Platter
  • Lime Juicer

Instructions:

  • Start by cutting the fish fillets into small, uniform cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
  • Pour the lime juice over the fish, ensuring it is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to 'cook' the fish in the citrus.
  • While the fish is marinating, thinly slice the red onion and chop the jalapeño peppers, adding them to the mixing bowl after the fish has marinated.
  • Add the halved cherry tomatoes and chopped cilantro to the bowl, gently folding all the ingredients together.
  • Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to taste and mix well.
  • Before serving, gently fold in the diced avocados to add creaminess. Be careful not to mash them too much.
  • Transfer the ceviche to a serving platter and enjoy immediately with tortilla chips or alone.
