Ingredients:

  • 300g of wheat
  • 100g of rice
  • 150g of sugar
  • 1L of water
  • 200g of dried fruits (apricots, figs, and raisins)
  • 100g of nuts (walnuts and almonds)
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Wooden spoon
  • Serving dish

Instructions:

  • Rinse the wheat and rice thoroughly under cold water and drain well.
  • In a large saucepan, combine wheat, rice, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer until the grains are soft, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
  • Add sugar, dried fruits, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before transferring it to a mixing bowl to continue thickening.
  • Once slightly cooled, pour the mixture into a serving dish, spreading it evenly. Allow it to set further as it cools.
  • Before serving, top with nuts and a sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish.
