Ingredients:

  • 200g of all-purpose flour
  • 180g of granulated sugar
  • 50g of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 100g of unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 200ml of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 200g of dark chocolate, chopped
  • 200ml of heavy cream

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • electric mixer
  • spatula
  • oven

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • While the cake cools, prepare the ganache by heating the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
  • Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate. Let it sit for a few minutes before stirring until smooth.
  • Once the cake is completely cooled, pour the ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  • Let the ganache set before slicing the cake into 10 equal servings.
