Ingredients:
- 600g of white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
- 200g of all-purpose flour
- 150ml of cold beer
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 500g of potatoes
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Tartar sauce for serving

Instructions:
- Peel and cut the potatoes into thick strips, then soak them in cold water for about 15 minutes to remove excess starch.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Pour in the cold beer and whisk until smooth, creating a batter.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Dry the potato strips thoroughly, then fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- In the same oil, dip the fish fillets into the batter and carefully lower them into the hot oil, frying for about 4-5 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Remove the fish with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with additional salt if desired.
