Ingredients:

  • 300g lasagna noodles
  • 500g ground beef
  • 400g ricotta cheese
  • 300g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 100g parmesan cheese, grated
  • 800g marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the saucepan, season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil; cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the parmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • In a baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce, followed by a layer of lasagna noodles, then a layer of the ricotta mixture, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with meat sauce and a generous top layer of mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
