Ingredients:

  • 150g of butter, softened
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 200g of plain flour
  • 50g of cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 100g of desiccated coconut
  • 200g of dark chocolate, melted
  • 50g of walnuts, chopped (for garnish)

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking tray
  • whisk
  • measuring cups
  • electric mixer

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract, then mix in the plain flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder until a soft dough forms.
  • Fold in the desiccated coconut and mix until evenly combined.
  • Using spoonfuls of the dough, shape into small balls and place them onto the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each.
  • Flatten each ball slightly with a fork and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until set but not hard.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, dip the top of each biscuit in the melted dark chocolate and sprinkle with chopped walnuts for garnish.
